Meet Green Door Psychology's clinician and founder

Kate is a registered psychologist who supports children, adolescents, and adults through comprehensive psychoeducational and psychological assessment. She holds a Master of Education in School and Applied Child Psychology from the University of Calgary and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Psychology at California Southern University. Her approach is holistic, strengths-based, and neuro-affirming, with particular expertise in understanding attention, executive functioning, and ADHD across varied presentations. Kate is known for her warm, empathetic style and for providing clear, practical recommendations that help individuals, families, and schools understand next steps.

What To Expect

Guiding You Through the Assessment Process

Intake Interview
We gather background information about your history, concerns, and goals, and review relevant developmental, learning, health, and social-emotional factors to guide the assessment.
Information Gathering
With consent, we may gather records, consult with relevant professionals, and use questionnaires to understand functioning across settings.
Direct Testing
Complete cognitive, academic, attentional, behavioural, and/or developmental measures selected to address your specific referral questions and assessment needs.
Interpretation & Report Writing
We interpret and integrate all information to produce a clear, accessible report with practical, individualized recommendations.
Feedback Meeting
We review findings and any diagnostic impressions together, explain what they mean in everyday life, and walk through individualized recommendations and next steps.

Who We Support

School-Aged Children (6+)

Assessments for children aged six and older, aligned with developmental expectations and school-based learning demands. This age range allows for reliable, meaningful testing and supports school planning, accommodations, and IEP development when appropriate.

Adolescents

Assessment support tailored to the unique academic, social, and emotional changes of adolescence. Evaluations consider increasing academic demands, executive functioning, emotional well-being, and identity development, with a focus on supporting autonomy and transition planning.

Post-Secondary Students

Assessments designed to clarify learning, attentional, and/or mental health profiles within post-secondary environments. Findings support academic accommodations, access to disability services, and strategies for managing increased independence and workload demands.

Adults

Assessments for adults seeking clarity around learning, attention, and processing patterns. Evaluations support self-understanding, mental health, workplace accommodations, and practical next steps across daily life and professional settings.
